Engineering Manager Strategic Projects

Queensland Rail are excited to offer this 2 year fixed term opportunity for a highly experienced Engineering Manager to join the Strategic Projects Team. This team is responsible for interfacing with External Agencies in the delivery of large rail infrastructure projects such as the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Project, Inland Rail, Kuraby to Beenleigh Rail Upgrade and many more. This role, along with the team, will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of these significant rail projects.
Core responsibilities
- Developing Queensland Rail Engineering Management documentation to support the interface with externally delivered significant strategic rail projects, including processes, procedures, standards and specifications.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to build capability and knowledge around Queensland Rail’s engineering interface role, in the delivery of externally delivered significant strategic rail projects, with a focus on developing externally facing requirements.
- Reviewing project documentation including Design Management plans, project Scope and Technical requirements and all other supporting plans.
- Facilitating cross discipline engineering interfaces, and integration requirements.
- Facilitating technical workshops and risk assessments.
- Developing technical reports and supporting briefing notes for escalation.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A current registration as a Registered Practicing Engineer Queensland.
- 15 years’ experience as an engineer in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to produce outcomes
- A high level of skill in developing engineering management documentation, processes, and procedures.
- Substantial experience in developing SFAIRP arguments and safety in design.
- Exposure to Digital Engineering principles and the use of BIM in design and construction environments.
- A proactive nature, and a willingness to learn and work across different disciplines
