Senior Asset Acceptance & Operational Readiness Adviser

Queensland Rails' dynamic Strategic Projects Team has an exciting 2 Year Fixed term opportunity for an experienced Senior Asset Acceptance & Operational Readiness Adviser to join them, assisting in the delivery of externally delivered projects. This team is responsible for interfacing with External Agencies in the delivery of large rail infrastructure projects such as the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Project, Inland Rail, Kuraby to Beenleigh Rail Upgrade and many more. This role, along with the team, will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of these significant rail projects.

 


This position will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of Queensland Rail’s asset acceptance and operational readiness activities across a portfolio of strategic rail projects, including Inland Rail and the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Project and an ongoing program of rail upgrade projects that are currently in planning with TMR.

 

The role will involve:

 

  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement Queensland Rail operational readiness plans and business impact scoping assessments for strategic rail projects
  • Supporting the development and monitoring the implementation of asset acceptance plans for strategic rail projects
  • Identifying, assessing, consulting on and managing operational readiness and asset acceptance risks associated with the projects, including arising from cross-functional and cross-project interfaces
  • Developing reports on operational readiness and asset acceptance risks, issues and progress across the projects
  • Undertaking assurance activities on the effectiveness and implementation of asset acceptance and operational readiness plans across the strategic projects portfolio
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to build capability and knowledge around Queensland Rail’s asset acceptance and operational readiness requirements
     

The successful candidates will have:

 

  • A high level of skill in the development and implementation of systems, processes, plans and reports
  • A substantial level of skill in the management of operational readiness activities for complex rail projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to produce outcomes
  • A high ability to think and plan analytically and critically, with a high attention to detail
  • Substantial experience in the identification, assessment and management of risk
  • A sound knowledge of systems engineering principles and their application in the acceptance of assets
  • A proactive nature, and a willingness to learn and work across different disciplines

Starting salary: $110,328 + superannuation
