Works Management Co-ordinator (West)

Based in Toowoomba, you will be responsible for Resourcing and Supervising Maintenance plans for the Network Regional Facilities Team as part of the total asset management cycle, Co-ordinate work programs with staff and Manage the Standards & legislative compliance of Queensland Rail's above rail assets including, stations, facilities and infrastructure assets.

About the role

 

 

  • Understand Operational asset requirements and strategic plan for all Queensland Rail assets in Network Regional in order to manage the implementation of the Facilities maintenance plans.
  • Keep up to date with building codes, acts, regulations and industry standards to ensure that Queensland Rail's assets are compliant and fit for purpose.
  • Perform Compliance and Quality Assurance audits and inspections for the region to ensure maintenance plans are being carried out optimising cost efficiency for Queensland Rail's stakeholders.
  • Assist the Manager Facilities Asset & Services in conducting the strategic asset review tours as part of the total asset management cycle in order to create a 1-5-year maintenance plans for Queensland Rail's assets including associated costs and budgets, then from the information gathered develop asset management strategy plans.
  • Build partnerships with Lines of Business and service providers to provide cost effective solutions for their assets by meeting on a regular basis to discuss their asset maintenance and strategic plans.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local Managers and supervisors in order to be able to respond quickly to their changes in requirements to the maintenance plan and check for their satisfaction on the work performed.
  • Champion Queensland Rail's policies, procedures, programs, legislative changes and compliance needs in relation to safety requirements and Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours, lead and motivate staff within the region to provide a proactive and responsive service to our customers.
  • Prepare and negotiate regional plans and budgets as well as the management of the delivery and reporting of outcomes against these plans.
  • Develop and implement a condition monitoring framework and other data collection and business systems to support best practice asset compliance and decision making including the development and management of the annual maintenance and five-year demand plans.

 

 

 

About you

 

 

  • You will need to have a high level of skill in managing a small team of staff, planning, managing compliance activities and organising workplaces in relation to resourcing staff, equipment and materials.
  • Extensive knowledge of asset management procedures, building codes, acts and regulations.
  • High level of interpersonal, negotiating, consultation, communication and decision-making skills working with diverse business and technical representatives and external stakeholders.
  • High level of skill in asset compliance assessment in line with agreed standards and legislative requirements.
  • Substantial skill in the use of computer systems in relation to asset management, time management and finance.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to commit to and work within Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours.
  • Operate in an autonomous manner by exercising initiative and independent judgement within policy guidelines set by the Manager Facilities Assets & Services.
  • Be available for call-out outside normal working hours.
  • Attend further training as directed
  • Travel throughout the state on a regular basis.
  • Cert III or IV in Building & Construction would be highly desirable.

 

Position description

 

The starting salary range on offer for this role is $110437
