Your opportunity

As a Traction Linesperson, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the safety, reliability, and performance of our overhead traction power network. Based in South East Queensland, you'll work across an extensive rail corridor with access to multiple depot locations.

Be part of the team delivering Queensland’s rail transformation, including major projects like Cross River Rail and the Gold Coast Faster Rail Project. The work you do will help connect people, reduce congestion, and support a more sustainable transport future for generations to come.

 

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Install, maintain, and repair overhead traction power equipment — including lines, wires, and components
  • Implement and coordinate isolation and safety protocols for maintenance and repair activities
  • Conduct inspections and testing of traction assets to ensure compliance with safety and technical standards
  • Record and report on asset condition, equipment performance, and completed work
  • Collaborate with your team to refine and improve work procedures and job safety

This role will be ideal for people who:

We’re looking for team players with a strong work ethic and a focus on safety. This role would suit someone who:

  • Has experience with overhead traction or power equipment installation and maintenance
    (we welcome both rail and non-rail backgrounds — the right attitude matters most!)
  • Understands high-voltage operating procedures, electrical safety practices, and WHS regulations
  • Communicates clearly and works well in a team environment

 

Mandatory Requirements:

To be considered, you must:

  • Hold a current Electrical Linesperson License
  • Hold a valid C-Class Driver Licence
