Your opportunity:
As a Senior Chef (internally known as Production Coordinator), you will provide strong, hands-on leadership and guidance to a high-volume production kitchen.
You’ll coordinate people and equipment to ensure that the kitchen is run efficiently whilst ensuring that food excellence and customer expectations are consistently met whilst adapting to changing business needs.
This is your opportunity to work alongside a supportive and close-knit team who produce over 5,000 meals each week for our long-distance travel trains.
Purpose That Counts. As a Senior Chef, some of your duties will include:
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing production kitchen team
• Ensure safe, high-quality food production in line with HACCP and Food Safety standards
• Manage budgets, food costs, stock and wastage
• Drive efficiency and continuous improvement across kitchen operations
• Ensue compliance with WH&S and statutory requirements
• Oversee effective use and upkeep of equipment and resources

Roster / Hours:
This is a permanent full-time position based in Bowen Hills, Brisbane.
This position generally works between the hours of 0600 and 1400 and you will be required to work a rotating roster which will include weekends and some public holidays.
This role is part of a four-week rotating link which provides vision of future work to plan around.
We are looking to connect with someone who ideally has:
• Previous experience working in a high-volume commercial kitchen including menu development
• Strong hospitality / cooking industry knowledge with a focus on customer service excellence
• Sound knowledge of WH&S, HACCP, Food Safety legislation and related statutory requirements
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated leadership and people management capability
• Proven ability to manage budgets and food costs effectively
• Hold a current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence – essential
• Hold a Food Hygiene / Food Safety certificate or Cet III in Commercial Cookery – highly desirable
