Your Opportunity
Queensland Rail is seeking an Accounts Receivable Officer (internally known as a Finance Services Officer) to join the team in this fixed term opportunity until 26/2/27 with possibility for extension based in Brisbane’s CBD.
As a Finance Services Officer, you will provide oversight, guidance and hands‑on support across key finance service functions, including invoicing, payment allocation, collections and revenue management systems. The role is responsible for ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, supporting business areas with technical advice, and contributing to the effective operation, compliance and continuous improvement of revenue and receivables processes.
You will play an integral role in maintaining service quality, resolving complex queries, and ensuring ongoing compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
Purpose That Counts – Some of the responsibilities of the role:
- Process and allocate customer receipts accurately (EFT, BPAY, and BPoint), including banking, adjustments and refunds in line with Accounts Receivable policies.
- Raise and manage customer invoices and credit notes, maintain customer master data, and support accurate revenue recognition and allocation.
- Perform customer account reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve complex queries to agreed service levels and deadlines.
- Support debt collection and dispute resolution activities, including proactive follow-up, recommendations for escalation (e.g., write-off or legal action) and accurate reporting.
People Who Count - What you can bring to the role:
- Substantial knowledge of SAP Accounts Receivable (FI-AR), including cash application, billing and customer master data maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to complete customer account reconciliations, investigate variances and meet tight processing deadlines.
- Demonstrated capability across end-to-end Accounts Receivable processes (receipting, invoicing, credit notes, adjustments and refunds) ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality customer service and support collections and dispute resolution with internal and external stakeholders.

The role offers a starting salary of $85,757 plus 12.75% superannuation, along with hybrid work options to support a healthy work-life balance.
