Queensland Rail is seeking a forward-thinking Business Analyst to join our Strategy and Planning team. As a Business Analyst, you’ll be embedded within a high-performing team responsible for enabling best asset management practices and digital solutions across the business. You’ll provide critical insights that inform executive decision-making, investment prioritisation, and most viable solutions for asset lifecycle strategies.
The key focus of this role is to drive and support components of the business within the Strategy and Planning team to meet business requirements regarding reporting, data analysis, current and future state process mapping, and the development of analytical capability across projects and business as usual activities within the Strategy and Planning team.
You will work in collaboration with asset owners and different stakeholders across the business to foster the availability and accuracy of data to support data driven decisions and enable best practice asset management.

What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in strategic business analytics, ideally within transport or asset-intensive sectors
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of asset lifecycle management
- Proficiency in analytical tools such as Power BI, SAP, Excel, Tableau and highly adaptable to new programs and software to deliver performance and investment analysis.
- High level of conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Proven experience of working towards deadlines - aligning projects & tasks to business requirements
