Your Opportunity:
Join Queensland Rail's South East Queensland Operations team as a Carpenter and play an important role in keeping our rail network safe, reliable and operational. Working across a diverse portfolio of assets including stations, depots, equipment rooms and residential properties, you'll help deliver construction, maintenance and improvement works that support our customers, employees and communities.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll enjoy a mix of planned and reactive maintenance activities while working alongside a skilled and supportive team. About the role:
As a Carpenter, you will:
- Deliver carpentry construction, repair and maintenance activities across a diverse range of rail facilities and infrastructure.
- Plan and manage your work activities while contributing to team goals, continuous improvement initiatives and productivity outcomes.
- Collaborate with supervisors, stakeholders and customers to ensure maintenance activities meet operational and asset requirements.
- Use Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS) to record maintenance activities, raise notifications and support effective asset management.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high trade standard.
- Apply industry regulations, building codes and quality standards to all carpentry and construction activities.
- Follow Queensland Rail's safety, operational and compliance requirements to support a safe working environment.
- Continue developing your skills through on-the-job learning, formal training and opportunities to build expertise in a unique rail environment.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Carpentry Trade Certificate and current Driver Licence.
- Experience undertaking carpentry maintenance and construction activities.
- Sound knowledge of building codes, regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop within a rail environment.
