Your Opportunity
Queensland Rail has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Finance & Corporate Services team and lead procurement for our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program – a key initiative driving transformation across our business. This is a temporary opportunity until June 2027, with opportunities for extension.
In this role, you will take ownership of all contractual and commercial aspects of the ERP Program, ensuring compliance with commercial, contractual, and regulatory requirements while delivering strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government and delivery partners, to support strategic decisions.
- Manage and enhance contractor and partner relationships to maximise commercial and contractual outcomes.
- Lead commercial negotiations and ensure governance compliance for major project agreements.
- Oversee legislative, contractual, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle to mitigate risk and deliver benefits.
- Provide leadership and strategic advice to the team on contractual and commercial matters.
- Drive procurement and commercial activities for the ERP Program, including market analysis, sourcing strategy, and engagement.
About you:
- Proven ability to lead a contract management and commercial team, delivering customer-focused outcomes.
- Strong influencing, relationship-building, and negotiation skills to foster productive partnerships.
- Expertise in negotiating, implementing, and managing complex government and commercial agreements.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills for developing and maintaining contracts and assessing performance.
- Extensive knowledge of legislation, governance, regulatory, and contractual requirements in a commercial environment.
- Government procurement experience
- Procurement certification (desirable)
