We are currently seeking a suitably experienced Construction Safety Manager to lead the Northern Project portfolio which includes the Wave and Beerburrum to Nambour Brownfield packages within the Major Projects Construction Safety portfolio.
Purpose that Counts - Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the Northern Construction Safety team in driving a positive safety culture and influencing positive attitudes and behaviours by designing and executing continuous improvement activities linked with overarching strategic objectives that drive safety compliance.
- Lead the team in providing site/project site related safety activities, including but not limited to inspections and monitoring, training and/ or awareness sessions, whilst driving a positive safety culture in complex project landscape comprised of heavy external interfaces and stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the Project Safety Leaders
- Facilitate the implementation and improve the awareness of participants Management Systems requirements and act as the point of accountability in ensure project safety requirements and targets are achieved.
- Drive the creation of best practice procedures and develop programs designed to enhance understanding and awareness of the legal framework and the HSEMS.
People Who Count - Who we are looking for:
- Extensive knowledge of WH&S Legislation, Rail Safety Acts and Regulations
- High level leadership, strategic thinking and management skills with the ability to strategically influence key stakeholders (internal and external). Substantial knowledge of working in a technical environment.
- High level of skills in investigations and report writing, particularly related to safety incidents and unsafe work practices.
- Extensive knowledge in construction safety environments particularly within major rail and infrastructure project settings and experience working within an alliance structure.
- High level of skill in directing and working with a professional team in integrating and prioritizing project safety and assurance initiatives, standards and frameworks within complex major project environment.
