Our Regional Project Delivery team is looking for a Contract Manager (AS7) to join their team on a permanent full-time basis in Brisbane. In this opportunity you will be responsible for managing strategic, contractual and commercial items relating to a wide program of works, ensuring commercial, contractual and regulatory compliance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage and draft contract correspondence in accordance with the requirements of the relevant contracts and prepare reporting and briefing material regarding commercial issues and claims.
- Lead the development commercial strategies and contract management frameworks required for the efficient integrated delivery of projects.
- Lead the development and improvement of existing contracting models including the review and improvement of commercial, contract and budget documentation.
- Lead commercial and contract negotiations in relation to the relevant contract work packages, ensuring that arrangements are in place to have them deliver the levels of service, performance and innovation expected from the project contracts.
- Advise on commercial issues as they arise on contracts and manage any minor and major contract disputes.
- Actively represent Regional Project Delivery on financial and commercial matters during meetings with the wider project teams, advisors and external stakeholders.
Our ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:
- Extensive engineering/construction management knowledge in addition to commercial and contractual acumen (preferably within a live rail, heavy industrial or construction industry background).
- High level of skill in managing contracts and providing a commercial and customer focused service across the organisation and with external parties, to support the delivery of the projects
- High level of influencing, interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and negotiation skills that build and sustain productive relationships and partnerships.
- High level of skill in the successful negotiation, implementation and ongoing management of complex arrangements and contract agreements.
- High level of conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills; particularly in relation to developing and maintaining contracts and commercial agreements while continuing to assess performance and provide advice to key stakeholders.
- Extensive knowledge of legislation, procurement, governance, project and contract risks, regulatory and other contractual requirements in a commercial and government/statutory authority environment.
- Flexibility with the ability to regularly travel to various sites throughout Queensland.
