Your opportunity

Our Telecommunications team have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Coordinator Telecommunications Operational Centres. This role will be based at the Rail Management Centre at Bowen Hills and reports to the Telecommunications Manager.

 

As the Coordinator Telecommunications Operational Centres, you'll leverage your extensive experience in leadership, telecommunications systems, communication and staff rostering, to successfully lead a team of seven in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

You’ll also:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Brisbane Telecommunications Fault Coordination Centre, including rostering across a 24/7 6-week roster cycle.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the Brisbane Telecommunications Fault Coordinators managing the commitment to on time running and the telecommunications network monitoring.
  • Provide a pro-active response to rectify system faults thus minimising network down time and carry out the investigation of systems faults and operational anomalies as required.
  • Monitor preventative maintenance and rectification programs based on quality improvement principles.
  • Provide effective engagement with Telecommunications stakeholders including Engineering, Reliability, Signalling and Telecommunications staff across SEQ and other regions for effective maintenance, installation and fault repair of the telecommunications systems and equipment.
  • Assist the Telecommunications Manager in ensuring compliance with Legislation applicable to the work group and its activities including workplace health and safety, fatigue management, environment, employment and anti-discrimination, trade practices and contracting.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong leadership skills and experience
  • Hold the following qualifications, Open Cabler Registration, Queensland Drivers licence and Telecoms Technician - Trade Cert
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in staff rostering
  • Skills in carrying out technical investigations, implementing improvement initiatives, undertaking audits and monitoring performance on telecommunications systems.
