About this role:
Working within Queensland Rail’s Major Projects team, the ETCS Development and Engagement Manager role is responsible for the leadership of key stakeholders and subject matter experts involved in the development, stakeholder engagement and staged delivery of the ETCS Traffic Management System (TMS), Electronic Train Graph (ETG) and related systems to support the rollout of the ETCS system on the Queensland Rail network.
Be part of one of Queensland’s most ambitious infrastructure and digital technology projects — the Cross River Rail. This landmark initiative is delivering a new 10.2km rail line, including 5.9km of twin tunnels beneath the Brisbane River and CBD, and four cutting-edge underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street, and Roma Street.
To support this transformation, we’re rolling out the European Train Control System (ETCS) digital signalling system. ETCS is a world-class automatic train protection system designed to deliver safe, high-capacity rail operations.

Overview of Responsibilities of the role:
- Lead, develop and manage a program of works to enable the ETCS delivery stages
- Act as the key specialist and point of contact in Major Projects regards programs of work being managed during ETCS related product development.
- Work closely with the ETCS technology partner/s to ensure systems, processes and methods are in place
- Ensure that the unit has work plans in place and manage all deliverables required by end users
- Conduct and implement Change and Risk Management activities throughout the project life cycle
- Assume responsibility for compliance with safety frameworks and safety outcomes across the scope of work
What you can bring to the role:
- High level of operational project, change and risk management skills
- High level leadership skill in successful management of multi-disciplinary professionals
- High level of interpersonal communication, consultation and negotiation skills
- Substantial knowledge of the Queensland Rail network and operations
- High level problem solving and analytical skills
