About this role:
Working within Queensland Rail’s Major Projects and Corporate Services finance team, this role is initially offered until 31st March 2026 with the possibility of extension. The role will see you lead the relationship between the Corporate Centre executive leaders and the Finance and Corporate Services group ensuring integration and prioritisation of the Finance initiatives. You will contribute to business performance by providing rigorous, evidence based and analytical decision making to assist with investment and budget decisions. Identifying business problems and challenges and suggesting solutions.
Purpose That Counts - responsibilities of the role to include:
- Lead the team of finance business partners in the delivering of financial management activities for the Corporate Centre
- Evaluate the Corporate Centre’s performance using management reports and knowledge of the business
- Ensure that financial risks in areas of responsibility are effectively managed
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts for the corporate centre
- Advise on key business planning including budgeting, planning, forecasting, costing and business cases
- Act as a liaison between the Corporate Centre and Finance
People Who Count - what you will bring to the role:
- High level of skill in the strategic alignment of business strategy and priorities with finance initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge of the strategic business partner model
- Extensive business knowledge and commercial acumen
- Extensive knowledge of financial modelling, analysis, evaluation and forecasting
- Substantial level of influencing, interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and negotiation skills
- Experience in leading and developing teams to increase performance and stakeholder experience
