About our Team
Our SEQ Network Assets business delivers infrastructure services, construction, maintenance, asset management and development across our 700 kilometres of rail network across South East Queensland, stretching from Varsity Lakes in the South to Gympie in the North, from Moreton Bay in the East and inland to Rosewood in the west.
Our Signalling Maintenance Team are currently seeking a Fitter to carry out the installation, overhaul and minor fabrication of equipment associated with wayside mechanical signalling systems on a full-time permanent basis.
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Install and overhaul mechanical signalling equipment including pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems.
- Perform fabrication and welding work associated with wayside signalling systems and equipment.
- Install diesel engines associated with stand by power supply systems utilised by Network.
- Maintain records with regard to installation and testing activities.

What you will bring to the role:
- Fitter/Welder Trade Certificate
- C Class Drivers Licence
- Knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic equipment as well as being able to perform minor fabrication and welding work.
Shifts:
3 week rotating roster, 4 day week Mon – Fri. Rostered off on weekends with overtime shifts available.
Week 1 Mornings - 0500 to 1430
Week 2 Afternoons 1400 to 2330
Week 3 Nightshifts 2030 to 0600
1800 to 0600 are penalty rates when on the roster first 3 hrs time and a half then double time.
On Call approx. every 6 weeks, for a full week. Penalty rates apply.
