The Wave is a major transport initiative set to transform connectivity from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast. Delivering new heavy rail from Beerwah to Birtinya and an express metro-style service through Maroochydore to the Sunshine Coast Airport, this project will reduce travel times, ease congestion, and improve regional connections, leaving a lasting legacy for the 2032 Olympic Games and beyond. Purpose That Counts - some of your responsibilities will include

 

As the HV & Traction Lead, you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and commercially focused HV traction engineering solutions. This leadership position involves guiding teams, driving innovation, and ensuring compliance across complex infrastructure projects. You will also;  

 

  • Provide expert HV traction engineering advice and services to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. 
  • Lead and coach multidisciplinary teams to achieve commercial outcomes and foster continuous improvement. 
  • Drive innovation and technology development to enhance business performance. 
  • Ensure compliance with professional engineering standards, safety, and environmental regulations. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic objectives. 
  • Collaborate with operational readiness teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions. 
  • Promote teamwork and customer service to achieve project objectives and alliance targets. 
     

People Who Count – What you will bring 
 

  • Extensive experience in HV traction engineering, including design, implementation, testing, and commissioning. 
  • Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams and manage complex projects. 
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering value through technical solutions and innovation. 
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory, safety, and environmental compliance requirements. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
