About the Role

 

Queensland Rail is on a journey of digital transformation, and we’re looking for a future-focused digital expert to help us get there as our Industry 4.0 Lead (AS7).

 

This is your chance to make your mark in a newly created role, shape the future of Queensland Rail, and help us become a leading force in the digital transformation of the rail industry.   You will be at the forefront of modernising how we work and introducing advanced technologies (i.e., AI, digital twins, machine learning, and smart sensors) to help solve operational challenges and elevate rail operations across Queensland Rail.

 

Working within our newly formed Digital Centre of Excellence, you will be a part of a passionate, forward-thinking team dedicated to exploring new and innovative technologies that disrupt conventional processes and reimagine how we work.

 

In this role, you will:

 

 

  • Lead the adoption and implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies across Queensland Rail as part of a multi-disciplinary team..
  • Identify and deliver fit for purpose digital solutions to business challenges.
  • Lead the integration of digital tools into our ways of working, bridging the gap between IT and Operational Technology.
  • Collaborate across teams to create scalable, user-focused solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to Queensland Rail’s digital strategy.
  • Help build the vision of our Digital Centre of Excellence.

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone comfortable working in a multidisciplinary, agile environment.

Remuneration & Employment Type

 

This is a full-time, fixed-term position based in Brisbane CBD, concluding on 27 February 2026. The role offers a starting base salary of $151,359 plus 12.75% superannuation, along with hybrid work options to support a healthy balance between professional and personal commitments.
