About this role

 

Queensland Rail are excited to offer the opportunity for an Integrated Possessions Planner to join the team on a fixed term basis until 30/06/2028 (with the possibility of extension). This team is responsible for interfacing with external agencies in the delivery of large rail infrastructure projects within our Major Projects department.

 

This role, along with the team, will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of significant rail projects. 

 

Core responsibilities - Purpose That Counts

 

  • Lead and coordinate all non-SCAS corridor requests from contractors to facilitate the delivery of complex project programs, ensuring these are resourced accordingly by critical Queensland Rail disciplines.
  • Develop and manage detailed risk management plans that fulfil safety and operational requirements for Major Project program of work in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage framework to coordinate site access requests, ensuring continuous improvement of established processes, identifying emerging risks, integrating evolving operational and safety requirements, and compliance with relevant defined planning protocols.
  • Coordinate and manage stakeholder planning meetings to review corridor access requests and resource requirements for planned SCAS and Non-SCAS Possessions, ensuring effective use of assets, compliance with safety and operational protocols, and appropriate authorisations.
  • Provide detailed performance reporting and advice regarding issue management, optimisation of resources and fulfilment of planned works to support high level stakeholder briefings and correspondence, including the use of ViziRail for extracting detailed analyses.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant property and rail safety legislation, policies, Queensland Network Rules and Procedures and trackside safety standards to ensure legal compliance and risk management.
  • Liaise with and support the Integrated Possessions Coordinator and Integrated Possessions Lead to identify and resolve activity conflicts and ensure delivery of an optimised possession program.

This position plays a significant role in the successful planning of key rail projects in Queensland. To succeed in this role, you will have great stakeholder and interpersonal skills, the ability to build productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and be well organised.

An ideal candidate will have as a minimum - People Who Count

 

  • Extensive knowledge of trackside safety standards as they relate to third party stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of Queensland Rail's SEQ network, practices, policies, standards and procedures
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise work across multiple outstanding items and new enquiries.
  • Have a highly organised approach to delivering outcomes and strive to meet constantly changing timeframes/deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive a solution focused outcomes for all parties.
