Position Purpose:

 

Queensland Rail are recruiting for a Manager Signal Asset Renewal to join the team at our Qantas Drive depot. In this role, you will manage the resources of the section and continually improve the safe delivery of Signalling renewal programs to agreed outcomes providing a quality and commercially competitive service to customers.

 

Position Responsibilities

 

  • Provide an effective and efficient asset renewal service for Signalling consistent with business requirements and customer's needs and ensure the Section's activities comply with relevant legislation and Queensland Rail policy.
  • Manage the rapid development/change of structures and processes to operate as a commercial enterprise.
  • Manage workplace, operational and environmental safety in accordance with Queensland Rail's Safety and Environment Management Systems for the Section's staff and activities.
  • Manage the assets and inventory of the Section in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
  • Manage, monitor and report on the performance of the Section in accordance with established performance measures including ensuring revenues are obtained for the services provided and expenditure is within budget.
  • Monitor the performance of staff and provide equitable opportunities for their career development consistent with their abilities and Queensland Rail's business requirements and maintain harmonious working relationships through regular consultation with employees and their representatives.

 

Key Selection Criteria

 

  • High level of skill in the management and leadership of staff to achieve organisational goals in the provision of all aspects of signalling construction services.
  • High level strategic and operational change management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Construction procedures and processes required for the provision of Asset Renewal services.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial management in a diverse business applying the principles of activity based budgeting.
  • High level of interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Substantial knowledge of project management, quality improvement, safety and risk analysis techniques.
