About the Role
We are excited to announce a permanent, fulltime opportunity for an experienced internal audit professional with a strong data analytics mindset to join our Internal Audit team at Queensland Rail.
The Manager Technical Assurance Projects (PT5) position is pivotal in enhancing our assurance capabilities and driving continuous improvement across governance, risk, and compliance.
You will lead critical initiatives, such as the Technical Assurance Project and Data Led Controls Assurance Project, leveraging data insights to identify anomalies, strengthen controls, and improve practices.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and deliver the data-driven assurance program focusing on automated and ongoing monitoring internal controls using data analytics and technology.
- Utilise advanced data analytics to deliver insights of business operations, identify inefficiencies, anomalies, and emerging risks to enhance governance integrity and drive business optimisation.
- Support the delivery of the annual Internal Audit Program by leveraging data driven techniques.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and deliver the Annual Data Led Controls Assurance Program.
- Provide independent assurance and advice to improve governance, risk management, and control processes.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years of internal audit experience, with a strong focus on leveraging data analytics.
- Deep knowledge of internal auditing principles, risk management, and compliance practices.
- Strong leaderships skills and experience managing high-performing teams.
- Ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including senior leaders and external auditors.
The role offers a starting salary of $151,359 plus 12.75% superannuation, along with hybrid work options to support a healthy work-life balance.
