We currently have a vacant role for the Manager Traction Power Systems to join our Traction Power Maintenance team in Brisbane. The role will identify and assess opportunities for innovation and improvement through SEQ Traction Power’s work processes to enhance the reliability, safety and cost efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include
- Identify and analyse opportunities to improve Traction Power work processes by undertaking critical reviews and assessments of current state systems and utilise the findings to create informed business improvement and change proposals for the Senior Manager Traction Power to review and endorse.
- Lead and manage High Voltage Electric Control Operations including internal and external interface relationships to achieve Queensland Rail Network objectives, performance measures, safety
- Responsibilities and continually seek to implement business performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead, develop and coach a team of Traction Lines and Power Systems Officers to provide high quality, value-adding technical support, training and assessment in the workplace.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships within Projects, Design, Operations and other key stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of Traction Power Systems in supporting the priorities of Queensland Rail.
To be considered for this role you must have:
- Electrical Mechanic Licence
- Extensive knowledge in traction power Electric Control operations.
- High Level of skill in managing traction power emergency, disaster and failure response and recovery, and interface stakeholders to Electric Control Operations.
- High level of skill in "whole of life" asset management including traction power maintenance and construction practices and processes within a complex commercial, safety and customer-oriented environment.
- Extensive knowledge in traction power systems, equipment and field operational practices and processes, their impact on railway operations, and the relevant standards and procedures applicable thereto.
- High level of skill in problem solving, using creativity and innovation in driving change to achieve functional transformation.
- High level of influencing, interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and negotiation skills that build and sustain productive relationships and effective change management.
- Substantial knowledge of relevant legislation as applicable to the work group and its activities.
- High level leadership and people skills, including proven ability to lead multidisciplinary and cross functional teams in a High Voltage railway environment.
