Your Opportunity
We have two (2) exciting, fixed-term opportunities as Master Roster Developers. These roles are ideal for recent graduates looking to launch their career in workforce optimisation, data analytics and public transport, providing a supportive environment to develop essential skills and knowledge. One opportunity will be until March 2026 and the other until June 2026.
As a Master Roster Developer, you will be doing deep data dives into operational team rostering providing a holistic view on demand alignment, roster efficiency, and compliance. We rely on the data analytics features of Power BI to visualise and inform decisions, while also supporting the continuous improvement of our internal analysis and quality assurance processes. Your strong time management skills and positive attitude will be crucial to your success in this role.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong data analytics skills, particularly those with a background or interest in workforce optimisation and rostering. You will gain an introduction to key operational knowledge that can open doors to various career progression opportunities in the public transport industry.
It is essential for the successful candidate to possess strong communication skills and the ability to draw valuable insights from data, enabling informed decision-making while also driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilising analytical workforce planning tools to produce master rosters that are cost efficient and rule compliant.
- Conduct ongoing maintenance and optimisation of master rosters, ensuring compliance with relevant enterprise agreement, fatigue, state/federal legislation and workplace health and safety rule sets.
- Ensure master rosters are designed with optimisation for special events, training programs and large-scale network SCAS closures.
- Support the implementation of master rosters, including ad hoc reporting, consultation and continuous improvement.
- Coach internal leaders on new rostering and encourage data driven decisions to influence efficiencies.
- Conduct user acceptance testing of in-service analytical workforce planning tools to ensure consistency of modelling outputs as well as capturing issues.

About You:
- Experience with using Power BI is essential.
- Experience in roster development is preferred.
- High level of planning, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Substantial level of negotiation skills to enable the ongoing development of efficient master rosters.
- Substantial interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse range of stakeholders.
- Substantial level of skill in working in a positive team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting others in the achievement of team goals.
