About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rollingstock Technical Assurance Manager to join our dynamic team based in Brisbane CBD. The successful candidate will be responsible for the monitoring and daily oversight of the technical integrity, quality, safety and reliability of the New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) fleet.
As the Operator and Asset Owner representative, you will be required to work closely with a number of external parties including DTMR, ProjectCo (Qtetic and Alstom) who are responsible for the design, build and maintenance of the NGR fleet.
The position includes managing a team of six direct reports and leading technical and design reviews for the NGR fleet and associated assets
Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include
• Lead and manage the technical assurance processes for the NGR fleet, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, and third party contractors, to ensure effective communication and resolution of technical issues.
• Monitor and report on the performance of the NGR fleet, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Provide expert technical advice and support to other teams, ensuring that all technical aspects of the NGR program are effectively managed and delivered.
• Oversee the investigation and resolution of technical incidents and issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions are implemented.
• Provide engineering approvals in respect to change management
• Supervise and mentor a team, ensuring their professional development and performance alignment.

About you
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline.
• Current RPEQ qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience in technical assurance or engineering management within the rail industry, ideally with rolling stock experience.
• Strong knowledge of rail industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with a focus on performance and capability.
• Strong team player, able to bridge management and technical stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment.
