About the Role
As the Operation Coordinator Brisbane, you will lead and manage a team of up to 75 employees across onboard customer service and station operations.
In this key role, you’ll drive operational performance, build a high-performing and professional culture, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will also ensure compliance with contractual and legislative requirements while championing continuous improvement across depot operations.
This is a permanent full-time position based at Platform 10, Roma Street (Brisbane).

Purpose That Counts. As an Operation Coordinator, some of the responsibilities will include:
• Lead, coach and inspire depot teams to create a safe, high-performing and customer-focused culture.
• Oversee daily onboard and station operations to deliver strong service and business outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing efficient processes and practices.
• Act as the key link between teams, leadership and stakeholders to ensure clear communication.
• Lead investigations into incidents, complaints and safety matters.
• Support safety compliance and uphold all policies and procedures.
• Manage budgets and workforce planning to meet operational and training targets.
• Step up as Operations Manager and work in the on-call roster when required.

Roster / Hours / Travelling:
Permanent full-time position, working primarily 0800 to 1600 Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and public holiday work as required.
Some business travel is expected, including onboard travel across the region to assess service levels, passenger experience and workplace needs on all of Queensland Rail’s long distance services including (but not limited to) Spirit of Queensland and Spirit of the Outback.
People Who Count – you will ideally have the following:
• Strong expertise in fast paced customer service environments with the ability to embed best practice.
• Sound knowledge of Food Safety legislation, HACCP and Responsible Service of Alcohol.
• Proven leadership and management capability to deliver operational and business results.
• Experience across performance management, change initiatives and workforce planning.
• Highly developed analytical, investigative, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Highly organised, self-motivated and able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Hold a current ‘C’ Drivers licence – mandatory
• Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol, Food Hygiene and Responsible Management Licensed Venue (RMLV) certificate and license – highly desirable but not essential
