Your Opportunity

Queensland Rail is offering a fixed-term position until January 2028 for HR professionals ready to take the next step and specialise in organisational design and remuneration.

This role is ideal for experienced HR Advisers or HR Business Partners seeking to broaden their expertise and build specialist capability, supported by a collaborative team of professionals.

You’ll partner with leaders and HR colleagues across the business, gaining hands-on experience in organisational reviews, job evaluation, and remuneration projects. Your work will directly contribute to shaping Queensland Rail’s workforce strategy and organisational excellence.

 

Here's what you’ll do

  • Partner with leaders and HR Business Partners to support organisational reviews and restructures, applying best‑practice organisational and role design principles.
  • Assist with job analysis, position description reviews and role evaluation, ensuring roles are clearly defined and aligned to organisational needs.
  • Analyse workforce and remuneration data to contribute to remuneration advice for senior contracts, specialised roles and higher duties.
  • Apply remuneration guidelines thoughtfully, balancing governance requirements with business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including HR Business Partners, Recruitment, Employee Relations, Finance, Payroll and operational leaders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to enhance how organisational design and remuneration services are delivered.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in a generalist HR advisory or HR business partnering role.
  • Exposure to, or a strong interest in specialising in, organisational design and/or remuneration.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret information and provide clear, evidence‑based advice.
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders and navigating complex or sensitive conversations.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn and develop specialist expertise.
  • Mercer job evaluation accreditation desirable, or a willingness to gain, to support highquality organisational design and role evaluation work.
