About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team on a permanent, fulltime basis. As a Payroll Officer, you’ll be part of a supportive and experienced team delivering timely and accurate payroll processing, interpreting enterprise agreements, and ensuring high standards of compliance.
You’ll play a hands-on role across the payroll lifecycle, from processing new hires to checking payroll reports and supporting time administrators. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid payroll foundation and a desire to grow into more complex responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include
- Administer the payment of wages, salaries and travelling expenses, the payroll processing of new starts, transfers, salary reviews and progressions and the processing of cessations for employees.
- Provide informed advice to Managers, Supervisors and employees on employee entitlements in accordance with Finance and HR Policies and Enterprise Agreements.
- Ensure compliance with Payroll quality procedures including the maintenance of accurate records.
- Participate in the ongoing review of payroll procedures and work practices established under the Quality Improvement Program.
- Provide training and support to Time Administrators in the business to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data being input into the payroll system.
- Perform other duties as requested by the relevant Team Leader Payroll particularly in relation to the checking of pay, payroll anomaly reports and timesheet entry.
Who We Are Looking For
We’re looking for a dedicated payroll professional with hands-on experience in delivering accurate and timely payroll services. You’ll bring a sound understanding of payroll operations, enterprise agreement conditions, and data accuracy in a high-volume environment. To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience in payroll, ideally within a high-volume or complex environment.
- Use of SAP/SAP success factors is adventagous but not essential
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering compliant and accurate outcomes.
- The ability to proactively investigate and resolve payroll issues in a timely manner.
- A collaborative mindset, working well within a team while managing responsibilities independently.
- The readiness to step into more senior payroll duties when required, demonstrating adaptability and initiative.
