As a Performance Adviser / Data Scientist, you’ll contribute to our proud legacy by joining a small team of five to play a crucial role in supporting and analysing operational data (e.g. on time running statistics), reports, information management and systems to deliver actionable insights that enhance operational performance and customer experience.
To achieve this, you will work closely with stakeholders across a range of operational and non-operational areas of the business.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Brisbane.

Purpose that Counts. As a Performance Adviser / Data Analyst some of your duties will include:
• Respond to queries and assist stakeholders in understanding available data.
• Analyse and model data to inform strategic decisions
• Design and deliver reporting solutions using BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and relevance.
• Provide insights that drive efficiency, asset utilisation, and service improvements.
• Liaise with subject matter experts and IT teams to integrate information and support transitions to new platforms including Databricks and the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP).

We are looking to connect with someone who ideally will have:
• Expertise in BI tools and data visualisation (SQL, Tableau, Power BI, SAP BO, Databricks)
• Strong programming skills (Python, SQL).
• Proven ability to manage large datasets and deliver meaningful insights.
• Strong skills in designing and managing structured and ad hoc reporting solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to explain complex data concepts clearly and effectively.
• Previous experience transitioning from multiple systems to a single data source (e.g. data lake or cloud modernisation projects)
