Are you ready for an opportunity to join the rail network? We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Power Cable Jointer to join our SEQ Team on a full-time basis. If you have a passion for the railway industry, love working with low voltage cables and infrastructure plus enjoy the challenge of keeping the trains running smoothly, then this is the job for you!
Your opportunity
This position will be based at our Coorparoo Depot, travel and occasional weekend work may be required at times to meet the business needs. The roster will encompass a 9-day fortnight and a one in four-week standby roster to attend after hours/weekend faults as required.
You’ll be responsible for
- Installing, maintaining, and the repair of power cable systems within the railway network infrastructure.
- Termination and perform jointing activities for low voltage cables used in railway, Signalling and Telecommunications systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and safety of power cables.
- Collaborate with a team of railway professionals to carry out projects efficiently and effectively.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
This role will be ideal for you if you have
- Previous experience in power cable jointing, ideally within the railway industry
- Electrical Mechanical Licence
- Strong knowledge of AS3000 standards applying to the Electrical industry
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset
