We are seeking to appoint a Program Director Major Projects Integration. The purpose of this position is to manage and provide strategic leadership and accountability for the successful acceptance of new assets as the Rail Infrastructure Manager (RIM) on behalf of Queensland Rail and external interface for integration of major programs including Cross River Rail (CRR) and European Train Control System (ETCS) program, Logan Gold Coast Rail (LGC Rail), New Gold Coast Stations (NGCS), Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) and in time the Direct Sunshine Coast (DSC) line rail programs and other major programs assigned to the Major Projects, Engineering and Rail Safety (MPERS) team.  This position will ensure that the external readiness for integration of programs is delivered in a manner which is consistent with industry best practices and standards, and that it satisfies requirements of the relevant Delivery Authorities, DTMR and other stakeholders focussing particularly on the readiness for integration aspects of the program for Queensland Rail and in particular SEQ as the responsible business.

 

This role will provide advice to the Queensland Rail Executive team, CEO, and Board, and operate within Alliance and PPP environments alongside Delivery Authorities. It is accountable for managing a complex range of external stakeholder objectives and relationships, including government agencies and internal interfaces with the SEQ Integration team.

 

 

In addition to the above, you will:

 

  • Participate as a member of the MPERS leadership team and partner with the Program Director Delivery, Major Projects to provide senior leadership of key issues relating to the integration of the CRR and ETCS projects, the LGC Rail, B2N and DSC line projects and other major programs
  • Lead and provide clear, timely advice, direction and development, to external stakeholders, of Queensland Rails integration program
  • Lead interfaces with external stakeholders on integration of program requirements, including engineering, commercial, constructability, and human factors
  • Anticipate and manage safety, legal, environmental, and operational risks associated with integrating large infrastructure programs

 

 

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates:

 

  • High level of executive leadership skills, strategic thinking and proven experience to integrate major infrastructure projects within a large and complex commercial, customer oriented and alliance / PPP environment
  • Extensive knowledge of rail transport operations or similar industry and associated legislative and organisational governance principles
  • High level of skill in strategic and innovative project delivery with the ability to manage multiple demands
  • High level of skill to develop a high performing culture which motivates employees
  • High level of stakeholder management, influencing, interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and negotiation skills
