About this role:
Working within Queensland Rail’s Major Projects team, the Principal Telecommunications Network Engineer will see you drive the technical direction of Queensland Rail’s European Train Control System’s (ETCS) telecommunications networks. You’ll provide specialist engineering leadership to deliver robust, compliant and commercially focused telecommunications data solutions across Queensland Rail.
Permanent full-time position based in Brisbane.
Purpose That Counts – Some of the responsibilities of the role:
- Provie strategic technical leadership to ensure ETCS network solutions meet operational needs and deliver commercial value
- Embed and uphold QR quality standards, procedures and improvement principles
- Oversee ETCS CRR telecommunications data system performance, ensuring cost-effective delivery and seamless, reliable integration with QR networks
- Lead technical training and capability development for telecommunications office and field staff
People Who Count - What you can bring to the role:
- Strong expertise in LAN/WAN data communications and physical network security in large transport / logistics environments.
- Proven ability to design, configure, commission and support telecommunications network systems with high reliability and availability
- Experience delivering commercially focused telecommunications solutions
- Ability to provide clear technical leadership and uplift competency across diverse teams
- Extensive knowledge of telecommunications performance and integration principles and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills to engage effectively with stakeholders and drive accountability for performance and compliance
- Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) and a ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
