QLD Rail are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to work within the Track Asset team of our SEQ Operations in the position of Principal Engineer Track Assets. Our SEQ Operations team is committed to ensuring the safety and ongoing security of our customers, passengers, and the general community.
In the position of Principal Engineer Track Assets you will provide the Track and Civil Asset Manager with engineering advice on asset planning, condition assessment, design and works prioritisation.

Role Duties:
-
Provide professional engineering, planning and condition assessment support and advice to the Track & Civil Infrastructure area of SEQ.

Identify and address atypical and poorly defined asset issues for inclusion into the asset management plan.

Coordinate the development, implementation, maintenance and review of the long term asset management plans for the track assets.

Provide professional civil engineering advice and construction supervision for track related asset renewal and maintenance projects.

Conduct engineering and technical investigations and prepare reports on track asset safety, condition and reliability issues.

Implement predictive asset condition modelling tools with the Track & Civil Infrastructure team to improve the reliability and life cycle cost of civil track assets.

Ensure technical records, condition data and incident data for the track assets are maintained up to date and in an accessible form.
About you:
-
Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Civil)
-
Extensive experience in the design, construction, inspection, maintenance and/or renewal of civil rail infrastructure
-
Extensive interpersonal, communication, negotiation and facilitation skills in multi-disciplinary forums.

Extensive skills in strategic thinking in long term civil asset maintenance and renewal.
-
Extensive knowledge of civil asset standards, service levels, failure risks and controls.
-
High level analytical skills including root cause failure analysis and whole of life cost benefit analysis.
-
High level of skill in relationship management including negotiating critical outcomes, problem solving and networking with and influencing key stakeholders.

High level of skill in meeting statutory, regulatory and policy obligations.
