Your opportunity
We’re looking for a forward-thinking Principal ICT Solutions Architect (AS7) to join our Solution Architect team and help shape the future of digital delivery and enterprise architecture at Queensland Rail.
As the Principal ICT Solutions Architect, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading the design and assurance of innovative, scalable, and secure digital solutions. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business to assess new digital initiatives, provide architectural leadership, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of technology at Queensland Rail, especially in the evolving space of AI, machine learning, and data science. We’re looking for someone who can keep across modern tech trends and bring that insight into practical, enterprise-ready solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the end-to-end architecture of business-critical ICT solutions, from ideation to implementation.
- Provide architecture assurance and governance oversight for internal and external solution delivery.
- Evaluate new digital requests from the business and determine fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Offer expert advice on system integration, technical standards, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with ICT Architects to maintain and evolve our technical architecture.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, particularly in AI and data-driven innovation

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Brisbane CBD. The role offers a starting salary of $151,359 plus 12.75% superannuation, along with hybrid work options to support a healthy work-life balance.
What we’re looking for
- Extensive experience in solution architecture within large, complex environments (government or corporate).
- Exposure to AI-based solutions in regulated environments is highly desirable.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills to support requirement elicitation and understanding.
- Proven ability to deliver enterprise solutions using modern architecture practices and integration methodologies.
- Excellent communication, consulting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A passion for continuous learning and staying up to date with technology trends.
