This full-time role offers stability and opportunities for career growth within Queensland Rail. You'll enjoy a competitive annual base salary starting at $155,500 plus 12.75% Superannuation. You’ll also benefit from:

Your opportunity:

As the Principal Rail Assets Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in collaborating with internal teams and external contractors, by providing expert technical guidance, analyse complex rail condition data, and spearhead strategic initiatives to optimise rail maintenance and performance.

 

Some of the key deliverables include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive rail grinding strategies aligned with industry standards.

  • Offer expert engineering advice to contract managers and contractors, ensuring project success.

  • Analyse complex rail condition data, including Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and provide proactive recommendations.

  • Conduct asset condition investigations and contribute to root cause analysis.

  • Monitor grinding activities to ensure compliance with established standards.

  • Mentor developing team members, fostering growth and capability.

 

What you will bring:

  • Extensive experience in strategic planning and rail engineering leadership.

  • High-level technical expertise to guide effective project execution.

  • Advanced data analysis skills for interpreting rail condition data and enhancing asset management strategies.

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, including root cause analysis.

  • Proven ability to monitor compliance and optimise grinding activities.

  • Expertise in rail maintenance strategies and a collaborative approach to performance improvement.

  • A passion for mentoring and developing the current and future generation of Engineers.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Engineering Civil/Mechanical Degree

  • Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).
