About your opportunity
- Implement complex, distributed multi-system software changes.
- Lead development in all aspects of the Software/Systems development life cycle
- Lead improvements to the software development processes used within TCS.
- Lead improvements to the overall quality management systems used within TCS.
- Oversee the consolidation, implementation, and use of software development toolsets within OSE – Visual Studio, JIRA, DevOps
- Oversee and support deliverables of less experienced engineers.
- Bring relevant elements of Systems Engineering into TCS.
- Undertake other related work as required and directed by the Line Manager.
About you
- Use initiative to keep up to date with emerging new technologies applicable to operational systems.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to be able to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, clients and suppliers to negotiate practical, efficiency focused and sustainable outcomes.
- Experience in a multidisciplinary, complex, and mission critical environments.
- Very good knowledge of Railway Operations and its applicability to Train Control Systems.
- High level of conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of professional software/systems engineering practices.
The following skills and experience as desirable:
- Practical experience in risk definition principles such as ALARP, ALARA and SFAIRP.
- Practical knowledge of Software and Systems Verification and Validation in a Railway environment or similar mission critical and/or safety related environment.
- Working knowledge of EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129
Qualifications
- Applicants must hold at the time of application Australian issued Bachelor Engineering – Electrical/Computer Science or business approved equivalence.
- Ideally be eligible for and/or have interest in obtaining RPEQ certification.
