Principal Workforce Planner
Brisbane, QLD, AU, 4000
You’ll connect Queensland. We’ll connect you to an amazing career.
Queensland Rail has such an exciting future and whilst the way we deliver services may look different in years to come, our commitment to connecting communities will remain unchanged.
Queensland Rail is looking for a Workforce Planning Specialist to join our People Planning team on a temporary full-time basis until 30/06/2026 (with the possibility of extension). This is an exciting time to join our team and be part of delivering an Enterprise Workforce Planning initiative for the organisation, through data-driven practical solutions to workforce challenges such as skills shortages, technological change and major infrastructure projects.
Your Opportunity
You will join a small but ambitious team in a large, complex organisation where workforce planning maturity is still developing. That means real opportunities to shape our direction, bring stakeholders on the journey, and design fit-for-purpose workforce strategies that drive business impact. You’ll enjoy the opportunity to partner with the broader People, Safety and Sustainability team and business leaders to:
- Undertake workforce planning activities including workforce segmentation, environment and horizon scanning, and labour market research, to identify critical capabilities and capability gaps.
- Develop actionable workforce plans to meet short, medium and long-term business objectives.
- Assist in developing and implementing processes across the business, by leveraging integrated planning, systems and reporting to understand workforce impacts from changes in demand and supply.
- Maintain and continually improve workforce planning frameworks and tools to ensure consistency and rigour in workforce decisions across the business.
This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career, influence meaningful change, and help foster a forward-thinking, data-drive culture during one of the most exciting times in Queensland Rail’s history.
