About this role:

 

As part of Queensland Rail’s Major Projects Group, the Program Coordinator will support The Wave (Rail) project, an important legacy infrastructure project for the Sunshine Coast. This role provides a critical coordination point between the Project Director, Project Managers and stakeholders, ensuring consistent information flow and effective project delivery.

 

Purpose That Counts – Some of the responsibilities of the role:

 

  • Developing and maintaining all Project Governance documentation, as well as coordinating Design Review activities, including tracking and monitoring due dates
  • Supporting Project Managers with project requirements, including liaising with SMEs and coordinating RFI responses
  • Preparing and maintaining Project Management Plans and associated documentation
  • Organising meetings, calendar requests and project-related scheduling
  • Preparing forward program lookaheads
  • Assisting the Project Director with reporting, administrative tasks and daytoday project coordination

 

People Who Count - What you can bring to the role:

 

  • Previous exposure or experience in rail or large-scale engineering projects is ideal
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to consult with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in coordinating schedules, reporting and planning
  • The ability to analyse, manage and solve problems in complex work environments

Key legacy projects such as The Wave and Cross River Rail will transform the SE QLD network and doubling passenger journeys over the next decade.

 

The Wave will include a heavy passenger rail line from Beerwah to Birtinya, connecting with a metro-style service to allow journeys to the Sunshine Coast Airport via Mountain Creek and Maroochydore CBD. This will introduce a modern public transport system that will be accessible to all on the Sunshine Coast.

To support this growth and enhance customer experiences, we're committed to key initiatives, including building three new Gold Coastline stations, implementing the $5.75 billion Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Project, introducing 65 new Next Generation Rolling Stock trains, improving station accessibility at eight main stations, boosting North Coast Line capacity and upgrading Central Station.
