About the project

 

The European Train Control System (ETCS) is a digital signalling system being progressively installed to key parts of the South East Queensland (SEQ) rail network.

ETCS plays an important part in the future of our rail network, delivering increased safety, capacity, efficiency, and reliability for a sustainable transport network. The project will provide many benefits to our rail network including:

 

• making our rail network more reliable — which means less disruptions to journeys
• help us increase the frequency of trains — which means less time waiting for the next service
• improve the flow of real-time information — so customers always know how and when trains are running
• provide an Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system — ensuring the highest available level of safety, both now and into the future as our network grows
• future‑proof the rail network — it enables increased passenger capacity required for the Brisbane 2032 Games and beyond

 About this role:


This role will assist and provide co-ordination support to the ETCS program team, working closely with the Program Director ETCS (North) to ensure that the team operates effectively and efficiently and can support the exciting works program ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

 

Purpose That Counts - Some of your responsibilities will include:

 

• Develop and coordinate assurance, integration and operational readiness activities for the ETCS program, maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Support governance by maintaining program plans, reporting requirements and decision making documentation that enable smooth project delivery
• Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration and deliver ETCS project outcomes
• Work closely with functional managers to plan, track and improve program activities, ensuring issues are addressed and improvement opportunities are captured
• Attend key meetings, capturing actions and ensuring follow through to keep the program moving confidently and safely forward

• Strong capability applying project management practices in a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring work aligns with recognised methodologies
• Proven ability to build positive stakeholder relationships and keep people engaged throughout all stages of project delivery

• Skilled in identifying issues within project tasks and working collaboratively to resolve them promptly
• Experienced in shaping, managing and delivering project activities to support successful outcomes
