About the Role

 

Queensland Rail is seeking a Program Delivery Manager to lead a high-performing team and deliver capital and operational projects across multi-million dollar programs. Based in the Brisbane CBD, this permanent full-time role puts you at the leading edge of shaping Queensland Rail’s infrastructure future. You’ll lead a team of project professionals and engineering consultants to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to scope. Candidates with an engineering background are strongly encouraged to apply, bringing technical insight to complex, multi-disciplinary delivery.

 

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to travel to regional project sites, gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects, and enjoy a high level of visibility with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. On-site experience is essential, as you’ll be actively involved in overseeing project delivery and engaging directly with delivery teams and stakeholders in the field.

  • Lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects across capital and operational programs.
  • Develop and implement strategic program plans and resource strategies.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across government agencies, service authorities, and internal teams.
  • Provide high-level reporting to senior management on program performance, risks, and assurance activities.
  • Drive team performance through effective leadership, coaching, and resource planning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and governance frameworks.

  • Proven experience in program and project management within complex environments.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in budget management and commercial delivery of capital programs.
  • Deep understanding of rail operations and infrastructure delivery.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of procurement, contracting, and legislative frameworks relevant to rail or similar industries.
