About this role:


Working within Queensland Rail’s Major Project, Engineering, and Rail Safety business group, the Technical Assurance Manager role will see you joining the Systems and Integration team working across several different major projects delivering European Train Control Systems (ETCS), Traffic Management Systems (TMS) and traditional coloured light signalling (Remote Controlled Signalling RCS). You will have a strong background in these technical systems and safety assurance delivery, demonstrable experience in the delivery of complex multi-discipline projects, with the ability to build excellent working relationships with stakeholders.

 

You can expect some of your responsibilities to include:

 

 

  • Provide the externally delivered projects under your review with clear direction as to delivery alignment with Queensland Rail Standards
  • Plan and determine the compliance status of delivery progress at key milestones across multiple projects   
  • Lead the planned assessment of project-delivered assurance artefacts to Queensland Rail
  • Represent findings, and issues to provide recommended corrective action at senior governance forums
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the business can accept safe and fit-for-purpose assets

 

What you must bring to the role:

 

  • High level of knowledge and experience in ETCS, TMS and RCS within a railway environment similar to Queensland Rail.

 

What you can bring to the role:

 

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in system engineering, system safety, risk management, assurance and governance principles
  • High level of skill in engaging a large range of stakeholders
  • High level of leadership, strategic thinking, and management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of rail systems and safety case development would be highly favourable
