About this role:
Working within Queensland Rail’s Major Projects division as the Program Testing & Commissioning Manager, you will lead the testing and commissioning capability within the Program Integration Team. You will play a key role enabling QR to accept and operate new rail infrastructure and systems.
This role is a fixed term role until 30 June, 2030, based in Brisbane CBD.
You can expect some of your responsibilities to include:
- Define and maintain the program-wide testing and commissioning strategy across all configuration states.
- Establish and govern operator acceptance principles, readiness definitions and evidence requirements.
- Develop and maintain an integrated, program-level master testing and commissioning plan.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning sequencing across multiple projects and interdependent systems.
- Act as Queensland Rail's primary operator interface with delivery partners during integration testing, commissioning, trial running and service entry.
- Establish and lead testing readiness, coordination and decision forums to manage entry and exit criteria, defect thresholds, retest requirements and go/no-go decisions for major test phases and configuration transitions.
- Implement operator-side governance for defects, non-conformances and regression testing.
- Provide program-level visibility and reporting on testing progress, readiness status, constraints, defect trends and critical path impacts.
What you can bring to the role:
- High level of skill and experience leading testing and commissioning strategy, planning and delivery for complex rail systems in brownfield operational environments.
- High level of skill in integrating multi-project testing programs into a single, operator-aligned master plan, including management of interdependencies, access constraints and staged commissioning.
- High level stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Extensive knowledge of establishing and applying readiness gate governance, including entry/exit criteria, defect thresholds, evidence packs and go/no-go recommendations.
- High level capability in defect triage, retest governance and risk based decision making in safety-critical environments.
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of and willingness to commit.
