Your opportunity:

Are you enthused about shaping and executing key infrastructure projects? Queensland Rail is looking for a skilled Project Manager Engineer to join Project Delivery Track and Civil team..

 

As a Project Manager Engineer, you'll leverage your extensive experience in project management, construction, and delivery of diverse infrastructure projects in a rail environment. You’ll take charge of multiple initiatives within our expansive infrastructure portfolio, ensuring successful, timely and budget-conscious completion. This role has the potential to travel regionally to complete work.

 

You’ll also:

  • Deliver and manage business development submissions, seeking project funding and creation of projects based on business requirements. This includes creation of documentation including business cases, project management plans, risk registers, cost estimates and WHS plans.
  • Determine resourcing requirements and devise contractual and procurement strategies.
  • Apply appropriate project governance processes and structures, ensuring compliance and effective oversight in line with Queensland Rail’s requirements.
  • Facilitate and implement risk-management and value-engineering activities, consulting regularly with stakeholders both internally and community groups, unions, government agencies, and project governance bodies.
  • Undertake project reporting to key stakeholders on progress, safety and cost.
  • Administer and manage contracts, with support from contracts procurement and legal representatives.

 

Overtime maybe required for this position but will include overtime penalty rates and allowances.

This role will be ideal for people who:

  • Bachelor of Engineering qualified, preferably in the civil field.
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills to reach milestones throughout the entire project life cycle.
  • Demonstrate strong construction management skills including management of worksites, contractors, and multiple disciplinary workers to achieve milestones and deadlines particularly in a rail closure environment.
  • Have proven experience in contract management and consultation on complex issues to arrive at solutions.
  • Exhibit expertise in progress reporting, risk management, project scheduling and procurement activities.
  • Possess exceptional stakeholder management skills, allowing you to swiftly cultivate positive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Posses outstanding communication, negotiation, consulting and writing abilities which will be indispensable for excelling in this role.
