Your Opportunity

 

 

We currently have a permanent vacancy for an experienced Project Manager to join our Rollingstock Project Delivery team based at Mayne. In this exciting role you will be required to provide project management services on Rollingstock and Operational Systems projects on Queensland Rail’s current rollingstock fleet. 

 

 

Your previous project experience in rollingstock projects, operations or manufacturing will stand you in good stead for this role, while your drive and stakeholder influencing skills will help ensure your success. Previous rail experience would be highly regarded but is not essential.

 


In this role, you will be required to:

 

 

  • Develop and manage funding submissions, project plans, project schedules, cost plans and cash flows in line with the approved scope and budget for the project in conjunction with all stakeholders.
  • Determine resource requirements, as well as contractual and procurement strategies which are to be adopted for the projects; engage and commission service providers, including negotiation of terms of engagement and performance.
  • Establish appropriate project governance processes and structures to ensure effective integration with interdependent projects and activities.
  • Conduct and implement risk management and value engineering activities throughout the project life cycle.
  • Consult regularly with internal stakeholders, community groups, unions, government agencies, project governance bodies and other stakeholders in relation to the project.
  • Monitor and manage the implementation of all project activities of contractors, consultants and internal service providers in relation to progress, cash flow and work quality to ensure they are completed to required standards, within program and budget constraints.

 

 

Position Description

 

 

To be considered, applicants will need to demonstrate the following:
 

  • Significant experience in project management within a multi-disciplinary project management environment in accordance with recognized best practice project management methods.
  • Extensive skill managing stakeholder relationships within a multi-disciplinary project environment.
  • Substantial experience in developing and managing budgets for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • High level of skill in planning, organizing, concept development, problem solving and analysis in a project management environment.
