The Purchasing and Support team sits within the Supply Chain Transformation team and assists the business with obtaining goods and services that meet operational requirements, supporting our core purpose of delivering safe, on-time, customer-focused, and efficient rail services.

 

 

Your opportunity

 

The Purchasing Officer (AS4) plays a vital part in delivering transactional sourcing and purchasing services across Queensland Rail, ensuring commercial benefits and operational efficiency.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Procure goods and services in line with Queensland Rail’s policies and procedures, optimising commercial outcomes and ensuring transparency.
  • Support purchasing compliance through documentation and audit-ready practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers to foster confidence in our procure-to-pay system.
  • Assist in the implementation and administration of contracts for goods and services.

 

 

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Brisbane CBD. The role offers a starting salary of $101,493 plus 12.75% superannuation, along with hybrid work options to support a healthy work-life balance.

 

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Substantial knowledge of contemporary procurement practices in large, complex public sector environments.
  • Experience with SAP-based purchasing systems and contract interpretation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on internal customer service.
