About the role:
Queensland Rail is seeking a talented Rail Safety Accreditation Coordinator to join our growing team on a three-year temporary full-time position at our Brisbane location.
This exciting and important role sits within the Rail Safety & Accreditation team, which is part of the Major Projects, System Integration and Assurance (SIA) group. You will work on major projects, like Cross River Rail, ETCS Level 2 signalling and The Wave. These projects will result in significant changes to Queensland Rail’s railway configuration.
Reporting to the Rail Safety & Accreditation Manager, you will join the team responsible for providing rail safety accreditation services to Queensland Rail and external project stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring that Queensland Rail’s major projects meet regulatory obligations, providing a safe railway.
Purpose That Counts - We do this by:
- Establishing rail safety requirements for project delivery and outcomes.
- Informing the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) of changes to the railway.
- Maintaining safety interfaces through collaboration with other Rail Transport Operators.
- Supporting assurance processes to promote improvement opportunities.
People Who Count - We are looking to connect with a professional who has:
- A thorough understanding of the application of Rail Safety National Law and experience of working within a regulatory environment
- The capability to develop and present planning documentation to the regulatory body and other stakeholders
- Experience in administering stakeholder forums and maintaining forum records.
- The interpersonal and professional skills to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Extensive organisational and coordination experience.

As a Rail Safety Accreditation Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
· Identifying rail safety accreditation requirements for the projects.
· Developing and maintaining rail safety accreditation strategies and plans.
· Preparing for and attending ONRSR engagement meetings, providing project updates as required, keeping minutes and tracking actions.
· Identifying and facilitating Notifications of Change and Variations of Accreditation, including engaging project stakeholders, collating and reviewing supporting artefacts.
