About this role:
Working within Queensland Rail’s Major Project, Engineering, and Rail Safety business group, the Rail Systems Engineering Lead will see you lead the development and management of Cross River Rail station related systems by providing technical oversight and resolve any associated delivery risk and provide guidance on the Cross River Rail Project within the Train Station Delivery team. This role is an initial 2-year role with possibility of extension and is based in Brisbane CBD.
You can expect some of your responsibilities to include:
- Apply systems engineering governance frameworks and support the project in delivering outcomes
- Manage the identification and undertaking of all CRR systems to ensure a safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable network.
- Develop and manage the system to satisfy the Queensland Rail change management and review Safety and Environment Management System (SEMS), standards, specification and procedures where required
- Develop key safety strategies and associated plans targeted at improved project delivery outcomes.
- Review new and existing system designs and make recommendations for improving or altering the systems
- Undertake systems engineering activities through the project lifecycle – delivering all necessary content and artefacts including customer needs and required functionality, system specifications, concept of operations and assurance.
- Implement technical management activities including technical planning, technical risk management, and system configuration management
What you can bring to the role:
- Extensive experience in leadership of a complex major infrastructure project
- Extensive knowledge of rail transport operations within a major project
- Extensive knowledge of metro style railway systems including Station Systems, and telecommunications infrastructure systems, their interfaces, technical aspects and technical standards.
- Experience in Cybersecurity would be an added advantage
- Ability to build and maintain crucial stakeholder relationships within a large-scale project environment
- Substantial knowledge of governance, risk and compliance to the regulation and risk mitigation for the construction, maintenance and operation of railway infrastructure
