Your Opportunity

Queensland Rail has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our SEQ Safety Risk & Assurance team as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator on a 2-year fixed-term contract.

In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in supporting the recovery and successful return to work of employees following workplace injuries or illness. Working closely with leaders, employees, medical providers and key stakeholders, you will provide expert rehabilitation advice, develop tailored return-to-work plans and help foster a safe and supportive workplace.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate workplace rehabilitation programs in accordance with workers' compensation and legislative requirements.
  • Facilitate early intervention strategies to achieve positive rehabilitation and return-to-work outcomes.
  • Develop, monitor and review suitable duties and return-to-work plans.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to leaders on injury management and rehabilitation processes.
  • Collaborate with employees, healthcare providers, insurers and other stakeholders to support recovery and return-to-work objectives.
  • Monitor rehabilitation progress and recommend appropriate strategies and adjustments where required.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential and compliant rehabilitation records and documentation.
  • Contribute to building a strong safety culture through coaching, guidance and risk-based decision-making.

About you:

You are a proactive and compassionate professional with a strong understanding of workplace rehabilitation, injury management and return-to-work practices. You enjoy working collaboratively, building positive relationships and making a meaningful difference in people's recovery journeys.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Experience in workplace rehabilitation, injury management or return-to-work coordination.
  • Experience implementing early intervention and rehabilitation strategies to support injured employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and adjust suitable duties and return-to-work plans.
  • Sound knowledge of workplace rehabilitation and workers' compensation legislation.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety principles, risk management and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships.
  • Well-developed report writing, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Allied health qualifications or experience will be highly regarded, but are not essential.
