Your Opportunity


Queensland Rail is seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Safety Analyst to join our People Safety and Sustainability Health, Safety & Wellbeing team in Brisbane. This is a temporary full-time opportunity until September 2026.

 

As a Safety Analyst, you will play a key role in analysing safety data, maintaining reporting systems, and supporting leaders in meeting their safety obligations. Your insights will help shape preventative strategies and ensure compliance with safety legislation and Queensland Rail standards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse safety performance data and produce timely reports, including benchmarking and trend analysis.
  • Support the development of safety reporting processes and contribute to monthly and quarterly updates for executive stakeholders.
  • Maintain accuracy of safety and risk data in corporate systems (SafetySuite, CoreGRC).
  • Track actions, recommendations, and controls to ensure accountability.
  • Assist managers and stakeholders with safety reporting tools and respond to data requests.
  • Coordinate safety communications in line with established protocols.
  • Stay up to date with safety legislation, standards, and methodologies.
  • Develop materials and initiatives that promote best practices and continuous improvement.

About you:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex data to support informed decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Power BI and Tableau is desirable but not essential.
  • Highly developed analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to interpret business data and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Proven ability to produce accurate, concise, and timely reports.
  • Expertise in analysing safety data and implementing best-practice monitoring systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
