We are seeking a Senior Assurance and Risk Adviser to join our team on a full-time temporary basis until 31/10/2025. You will support the Regional Safety, Risk & Assurance Team and operational leaders to develop the Assurance and Risk program of work.

You will develop and implement the Regional Business Integrated Assurance Plan and influence service providers to undertake assurance activities aligned to the Regional business risk profile and critical controls, to determine and improve the effectiveness of our policies, procedures, and practices in managing strategic and operational safety and environment risks.

 As a key member of our team, you will champion assurance across the Regional business, analyse reports, data and identify business risks, your impact evident in the strong, influential, and professional relationships you foster with key stakeholders.

 Whilst this position is based in the Brisbane CBD, you will be supporting our Regional business and therefore travel may be required.

 

Overview of day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Regional Business Integrated Assurance Plan with key service providers to ensure assurance is aligned to Regional risks and testing critical controls.
  • Champion the development of first line assurance tools.
  • Mentor, guide and educate regional stakeholders to understand the Regional business and the criticality of first- and second-line assurance activities to drive the maturing of assurance and risk controls across the Regional business.
  • Conduct analysis and reporting activities on the Regional Business Integrated Assurance Plan.
  • Review and analyse the Regional Business Integrated Assurance Plan and implement improvement strategies.

What you will bring to the role: 

  • Demonstrated experience in the management of a risk-based safety and environment assurance function.
  • Strong influencing, interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and negotiation skills.
  • Skill in reviewing and analysing safety and environment assurance program information and implementation of improvement strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to liaise effectively across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • An analytical mind to analyse and translate data into meaningful reports.
  • Current Queensland driver’s license preferred.
