As a Senior Assurance and Risk Adviser, you’ll support the Regional Safety, Risk & Assurance Team and operational leaders to develop the Regional Integrated Assurance Plan and deliver of Assurance and Risk program of work.

 

You will support the development and implementation of the Regional Integrated Assurance Plan as an assurance provider. The role will include influencing other assurance providers to deliver activities aligned with business risks and critical controls. Support leaders in their assurance obligations through first line assurance activities. Your work will strengthen the effectiveness of systems, policies, procedures, and practices in managing legislative and regulatory requirements and effectiveness of risks and controls.

 

As a key team member, you will advocate assurance and risk across the Regional business, analyse data and reports, identify systems improvements, and build strong, influential relationships with stakeholders.

 

This is a permanent full-time position based in Brisbane CBD, with some travel required to support Regional operations.

Purpose that Counts. As a Senior Assurance and Risk Adviser some of your duties will include: 

  • Help support develop and implement the Regional Integrated Assurance Plan to align assurance with Regional risks and test critical controls.
  • Champion the development of first line assurance tools.
  • Mentor and educate stakeholders on the importance of first and second line assurance to strengthen risk controls.
  • Analyse and report on the Regional Integrated Assurance Plan outcomes.
  • Deliver the Regional Integrated Assurance Plan and Assurance and Risk program of work to drive improvement strategies.

We are looking to connect with someone who ideally will have:

  • Demonstrated experience managing a risk-based assurance function.
  • Strong influencing, interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to review and analyse assurance program data and implement improvements.
  • Proven stakeholder management and effective liaison across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to translate data into meaningful reports.
  • Current Queensland driver’s license.
