Your opportunity
We have an amazing opportunity for a Senior Assurance and Insights Adviser (AS6) to join our Enterprise Risk and Compliance Team – a respected group of risk and assurance professionals who provide strategic leadership and expert guidance across Risk, Assurance, Compliance, Business Resilience, and Policy Governance, driving the direction of the organisation and its transformation journey for the benefit of customers and employees.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review and constructively challenge business risk, assurance and compliance reporting, assessments, incidents, key risk indicators, projects and other relevant activities that impact Queensland Rail's risk profile.
- Provide advice on assurance management matters across Queensland Rail to build organisational capability and a strong risk culture, coordinating efforts to embed an integrated and consistent assurance management approach.
- Analyse data, incidents and issues, to identify trends, root causes, data quality gaps, and behavioural insights, and work with the business to ensure actionable insights inform reporting, drive improvements, and actions are implemented and matters remediated.
- Provide advice on and support the implementation, embedding, and continuous improvement of Queensland Rail's Assurance Management System, including frameworks, tools, policies, programs, plans and digital solutions, ensuring it is monitored, mature and aligned to legislative and business needs.
- Identify simplified and efficient system design requirements, and perform stakeholder training, embedding, and implementation and data analysis.
- Analyse data to identify potential non-compliance and ensure business managers remain informed of relevant legislative obligations and changes, control and framework gaps, and required updates.
- Provide expert input and advice, policy oversight, and stakeholder training and awareness activities that supports effective governance, and addresses requests from various stakeholders including regulators, auditors and senior managers.
- Contribute to achieving the Enterprise Risk, Assurance and Compliance team's objectives and performance measures, continually seek to implement business performance improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Recent relevant experience in assurance and risk in an operational or (preferably) corporate area of a large complex organisation
- Experience as a coach and mentor of assurance professionals with a focus on building organisational capability and a risk culture
- Experience in leading initiatives to enhance, implement, and embed improvements in the Risk Management System with a focus on assurance
- Identify simplified and efficient Enterprise Risk Management System (ERMS) design requirements, and perform stakeholder training, embedding, and implementation and data analysis of ERMS data.
- Experience working with large amounts of data, providing complex reports including insights, and preferably experience in the use of Resolver / Core GRC.
- Experience in the development and implementation of simplified, efficient digital solutions for assurance, risk and compliance management
- Skills and experience in shaping organisational culture and practices through influencing, negotiating and consulting with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the uptake and adoption of assurance frameworks (in particular).
- Experience in providing strategic advice on assurance by leveraging industry benchmarks, regulatory expectations, and data-driven insights, to support continuous improvement
- Strong interpersonal, oral, consultation and written skills including the development and presentation of reports to various levels of management, including executive committees
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Brisbane CBD. The role offers a starting salary of $135,199 plus 12.75% superannuation, along with hybrid work options to support a healthy work-life balance.
